This post is a continuation of my previous post, where I mentioned about my obsession with Jalapeno peppers. This recipe has peppers – jalapeno, bell peppers cooked with onions and Haloumi cheese.

Haloumi belongs to Cypriot cheese family and is a mixture of goat and sheep milk. It tastes like paneer but is semi- hard and salty. Once you start cooking, it becomes soft and chewy.
Ingredients
Chopped jalapeno peppers
Cubes of herbed haloumi (you can even use plain) 10-12
Diced bell peppers 1 medium size
Chopped onions 1 medium size
Chopped garlic 5-6 cloves
Olive oil 1 teaspoon
Salt
Directions
Heat olive oil in a fry pan.
Add garlic and onions to the pan. Cook it for 3-4 minutes on a medium heat.
Once onions turn brown, add capsicum and jalapeno peppers. Cook for 5-6 minutes.
Add cubes of haloumi. Adjust the seasoning by adding some salt. Stir nicely until well combined.
You can garnish it with some parsley if desired.
We just had it on its own with some ginger tea to drink along…we loved it.

Very new kind of cheese. Like the look of it.
This sounds nice. Can i make the same with normal paneer that you get in India? I would also love to have it just as a snack. I dont think we get this houlomi Thing here.
